Maggie picked him up a little after lunch & they said he did great!! So, we have a new routine!!!!! Early... Early.... Early!! It may even be too early for Gigi!!! Check out the new pic!! Bye Bye to "The Stadium"

So, with a heavy heart I sat & watched the last game at Yankee Stadium. It was nice to see the guys from the championship teams, but knowing that the place is destined to face the wrecking ball was a bit of a bummer. I sat there, holding my infant son & watched the old yards last stand. Knowing I could never take him there & point to where the greats played. I know the new stadium is going to be a great, modern experience. But I don't like change... I'm not going to go off the deep end & say I'm going to boycott new Yankee Stadium at "corporate sponcer" park. I'll go, & enjoy watching the games, but the idea of calling some other building "Yankee Stadium" seems a bit farcical to me... I guess I'll have to get over it!

So whats new on the baby front.... um... not much! Phinneus has had good & bad days. Like anyone I guess! He's been "talking" more than ever before. I don't know what he's sayin', but he keeps tellin us stuff! We have him all signed up for the daycare. He'll start in a week or so, when Maggie goes back to work. He's growing pretty fast! Stay tuned for new pics once I figure out how to use my new camara phone!

Peace!

Littletime

As I have been dubbed "Bigtime".... Phinneus has been tagged "Littletime"... I gotta kick outta that. See, Jonathan (Kev's brother) got a chance to meet our 'lil guy over at Chenoah & Kev's the other day & decided that's what he was gonna call him. So, let's see what's gone on since my last post...... Well, we went daycare shopping (actually Maggie & St. Amy went first & I went to the ones that they thought I should see). So it came down to two places. One was like the Cadillac of daycare places.... I mean it was nicer than our house.... But it cost a mortgage payment to send him there... The other was "nice", but it was a Buick to the first place's Cadillac.... So, due to finances being what they are... We went Buick.... I mean a Buick is a nice car,... Right?? After we decided that, we decided to take my mother up on her offer to watch the baby over night on this past friday. We were lucky enough to get a "free" room in Atlantic City... So down we went to that shiney jewel that we love so much! Checking in at the Showboat" around 9:30pm we only had enough energy left to go "gaming" for 'bout an hour... Then off to bed we went! That's what we do, hang out & take it easy when we get there. Then wake up early & hit the floor when all the dregs are sleepin' it off. We hit the floor late, around 8:30ish... the best time is from 5:30-8:00... it's empty & you have your pick of what ever "action" you fancy! It was still sparsely inhabited in the casino when we got down there. We hit Starbuck for some alto tall cinnamon skim latte alto drink... It was mighty good! We weren't "feeling" the Showboat, so we walked up to Bally's/Ceasers for a while... We love it up there, so much under one roof... You never have to go outside... you just enjoy the synthetic beach in Ceaser's "Pier" shopping area, or the "Tex-zona" feel of Bally's Wild West Casino... So much.. So Much... After holding our own we walked back to the Showboat, checked out & drove back to Ceasers for the rest of the day. See, that's how we do it.. We walk around alot & when we find where we wanna be, we go get the car & stay there... So, Maggie hit a machine for enough to cover our initial investment & still have enough left over for us both to play for the whole day! We used our "comp dollars" & enjoyed a "free" lunch!! Around 3:30 we called it quits & headed for home. We covered all costs with our winnings, so we put the money we took outta the bank back into the bank! Thank god for breaking even! Is it nice to come home w/ copious amounts of money? Hell yes! Is it still nice to come back not having spent a dime?? well, that's nice to!! The nicest part of the trip was spending some quality alone time with my beautiful bride! Yeah Babe! We picked the baby up at Chenoah's (she picked him up from my parents so they could head out to Long Island). Sunday I weny fishing w/ My dad, grandfather & my uncle out in Long Island. We did pretty good w/ the porgies. I cooked them up tonight, Vera Cruz style... The only problem w/ going to Long Island is the darn traffic coming home... My whole life we've been hitting biblical traffic jams... I mean something from Revolations.... Yesterdays mess was caused my some people who cracked up in the bronx & backed up the road all the way to queens... I's always the bronx that is the killer on the trip home..... I lost 45 minutes... But I Had the fish!

Update on Master P

Since my last post Phinneus has had good days.... & bad ones. But I guess that's to be expected!! Yesterday was "my first tropical storm" day, as the remnants of TS Hana blew through Jersey. The humidity level was somewhere between Florida & a steam bath for most of the day. The deluge began in the mid afternoon, and lasted until 9pm'ish. Master P was intrigued by the rain. I sat with him in the front window (praying we wouldn't push the window out, as you never know how well anything was constructed 'round these parts) & we watched the rain. He sat up with a high level of awareness & stared out at the armada of rain drops, shaking leaves & rippling puddles. I imagine it was like an "Alice in Wonderland" moment for him. Hell, he's only been around for a few months & that was the most water he's ever seen falling from the sky. Certainly more than what falls from our kitchen faucet where we bathe him!!!!!
Our greatest ally in the past few weeks has been our shop vac. It seems to be the most comforting thing on the planet! If the baby is fighting sleep, go downstairs & fire up the shopvac, rock him for a few minutes & he's out. The sound automatically sooths him. Sometimes he wakes right up when you turn the vacum off! Oh well!! I bet if this kid went on a boat ride he'd be knocked out! 'Till you docked!!
So this week starts the process of finding a day care place..... I wish I could hit the lotto so we didn't have to send him..... St. Amy is coming out this week to go with Maggie & visit some of these places. I unfortunately have to work, & won't be able to go.... I hope they find a good one! Well, I gotta go, the sound of the vacuum is blaring & I'm going to run the gauntlet & turn it off! Tawk to yous later!
PEACE!

Phinneus Takes Manhattan

Phinneus made his first trip to NYC the other day. We loaded everyone (Trish, Randy, Maggie, Phinneus & me) into Wanda McBetty (Maggies car) and trecked into "the city" to meet Amy & mangia on some thin crust pizza! We met Amy at her apartment, squezed in to show the outta towners, did a little diaper changeroo & were off to Columbus Circle & Central Park. After about 30 min in the park (not just any kinda minutes, these were 30 NY minutes!) we made the journey to the restaurant for a bite! Andrew was able to meet us, as his theatre is around the corner from John's Pizzeria. So not only was this Phinneus's 1st time in NYC, it was his 1st time in a restaurant.... Now I was a bit scared of how he'd react to being in a busy restaurant, but he was exceptional! He got passed around the table 2 times, didn't make so much as a peep & just looked around as we gorged on yummy pizza! After dinner it was off to the American Airlines Theatre. Andrew gave us a tour, we even got to see the lounge where the "muckidy mucks" relax during intermition. Of course we used the theatres "facilities" for another diaper changeroo & we were Jersey bound! We were amazed at how well Phinneus handled the trip. He's gotten so much better! a week ago he wouldn't have been able to deal with a trip like that.

So Saturday was Trish's birffday & we had a 'lil party! We had paella, beans, potatoes, hushpuppies & sangria. For dessert we had a George Takei cake from Shoprite. They took a picture & recreated it on the cake. The picture was edible to!

Today we bid farewell to T & R, I dropped them off at LaGurdia late this morning. We had a great time! thanks for coming out to visit! See yous at Xmas! Yous guys are sweet, so sweet! Yetteree! Chicken aint nuthin butta bird!

PEACE!
