So, today we took Phinneus to the doctor for a check up. The dr. made a statement "so this is day 7 of life"... I found that an interesting phrase, way more intellectual than I'd put it. To me, he's 7 days old... To the medical community, its "day 7 of life"...
Everything checked out fine at the doctors office. Phinneus actually gained some major poundage, up to 6lbs 13oz!! But I bet he's less now after some seriuos poopage! He's been eating more lately though, 2 whole oz. per feeding! Janie's right, they do have cream cheese breath after the feedings!!
Yesterday was time for Phinneus to meet the Long Island side of his lineage. He met my grandfather, Aunt Celeste & Uncle Tim. We all had a blast and many pictures were taken, but I'm waiting for the to be emailed to me. So if you have any of the pics, hurry up! email 'em already!
The highlights for me were when my grandfather got to hold Phinneus & take some pictures. It was an emotional moment fo sho! I heard him say "bee-you-dee-full" in his old school brooklynite blue collar tone when he saw Phinn for the first time.. Again, an emotional moment!
Today after work Amy & Andrew were over. Papa Ken cooked up some salmon, Salad, Amy made Quinoa, we had some steamers, & my buddy Tommy came by to check out the 'Lil Guy. We ate, drank & were merry!! Good times!! Good times!! Sorry for the lack of visual stimulous, maybe tomorrow I'll have some more pictures to post!
Peace!

Phinnues in da heezy
So, here are the requested pics of Phinneus' room. He hasn't used it yet cuz he's been in the bassinet since he came home. Check out the pick of him sleeping with his mouth open. That's how he celebrated the Yanks beating the Mets 3-2 yesterday!! Funny right!!!! He was still psyched I could tell!!!!!! Since I last blogged to yous we had to take him to the Doctor for a jaundice test. The had to prick his heal & draw blood. It was more tramatic for us than Phinneus I think... He slept through it, I almost wept through it...... I'm a softee ok! The Doctor said he looked great & all was well! Chenoah & Kev came over to see the baby yesterday, it was Kev's first time meeting Phinneus. It was nice getting together & hanging out! Thanks for coming over guys! So Papa Ken & Amy made it to our house last night at about 8:30. They drove all the way from Chicagoland to K'vil. We had some macaroni, amazing Calandra's bread & a Greek inspired chick pea salad w/ homemade tzatziki sauce & pita! Then Amy drove to the city to see Andrew... Could you imagine having to get back into the car after a 740 mile drive!! You go Amy! God bless St. Gigi for all that she's done! She has been taking the night shift, done the laundry, done the changing.... We can't thank her enough!! It was funny, she was explaining to Phinneus about "raving"!!!! Funny right! Oh I almost forgot, Phinneus has a webbed foot, like Gigi!! She was excited about it! My moms been over a a bunch of times. She loves the lil guy, you can tell by the way she "glows" when she holds him! Today my Aunt, Grandfather, & some other people are coming over to meet Phinneus. We have to go get the bagels & "smear stuff" (thats Gigi lingo for cream cheese) for people to "nosh" on... Oh I almost forgot, Thanks Trish for the wonderful knitted ensamble & going bananas shirt!!!! So anyways I gotta go!!
Peace!

Homecoming!
Well, we got the 'lil guy home today! It was his first time out in the mainstream of the world! Welcome to dirty, stinky New Jersey Kiddo! Chenoah came over and decorated our pad for us while we were getting Maggie & Phinneus discgarged! Thanks Chenoah! It looks great! We Love You! Before I left for the hospital I drew Gigi a map to the local Starbucks franchise. I wish I could upload the voicemail she left on my phone after she got lost! It was too funny! Luckily She was able to contact Chenoah & get directed to the Starbucks for a propper caffination! So Mom & Baby are "in the House"! Maggie is very soar & the stairs are a biznatch to negotiate, but she does it! I'm so proad of you Babe!! You Go! I expect to see some raving about Maggie peoples! What she went through, & is going through ain't easy.... fo sheezy! I mean getting in bed hurts, could you imagine! I went to Giancarlo's, the local bakery to get some canoli & bread. The couple that own it were so nice to me! I was like, "We just brought our baby home, so I need to buy some canoli!". The baker congratulated us & the lady behind the counter said "God blessa you son"!! Pretty cool! Gigi has been fab! She's helped us out soooooooo much & he's only been home for a few hours! We all (Phinn too) took a big 'ol nap in the afternoon! That's my report for today!
BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE!!
Peace!

Carjack me sucka.... I don't think so!
EaST Orange, located in the beautiful urban sector of Essex County is the shining jewel of automotive theft in New Jersey. Sandwiched between Newark & Irvington (both "rough" neiborhoods), East Orange is a town not unlike Snake Pliskin's Manhattan in the movie Escape From New York..... It is Ghetto.. So, we have customer that we call on who is located on S. Grove street. Covered in razor wire & cameras, their parking lot is something of a safety zone. Howerver, My dads car got stolen there about 15 years ago, the guy who owns the place had a car stolen there. His is a great story, he was on the way somewhere with his wife & had to stop at the store the get something. He ran inside, and they stole his car.... with his wife in it!! Somehow she got returned, not to sure about the car... Well, Friday was my turn to experience the joys that this area offers... I made a delivery of material to this perticular supply house. Drove up to the light, waiting to make a right on Central to get into Newark. On my left was a Cadillac with to ethnic youths inside. The passenger rolls his window down & asks me (my window was down, the a/c in the truck don't work) "where do you work?". I said, "all over I'm a salesman". Then he starts to get out of his car, asking me "what'chu sell?". I said f*ck this & made the right... That's how fast it can happen kids....
So today we are going to the hospital to get "induced"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next time I blog, I'll be giving the full baby report! Keep us in your thoughts!! Gotta go to Shoprite now!
Peace!

Mad Props
I have to give mad props to my babuh for dealing with this whole peeing at night thing... She has to get up at least once an hour to go pee. The wierd thing is that she doesn't load up on fluid before bed. It's like the baby stores any fluid she drinks during the day & gets rid of of at night. I'd f*cking kill myself if I had to get out of the comfy bed a bunch of times every night! That's why I have to give mad props to my babuh! I have to make sure the baby is always respectful to it's momma forever because of the 9+ months of sacrafice she's gone through! B-day is almost here & we're trying to get completed "baby-izing" Pauloff Farms. Most importantly we have constant electricity ( I pronounce "electrizity", but hey... I'm from Jersey ), the bathrooms both work, the baby's room is furnished & we have Clan McGreggor. So, we should be aight. My dad deserves a shout out for helping us with the dreaded sheet rock (I understand yous mid-westerners cawl it "dry wall", same snit) over the stairs project. We're almost done with that & should have it rapped up by the time we bring the baby home. Maggie's been "en fuego" setting & rearranging the bulk of Pauloff Farms. She really breaks her behind when I'm at work. Thanks Babe! I have a bunch of things left on my to do list, most importantly I have to get cable into the guest room so Gigi can watch Larry! Well, I'm off to sweatin' w/ the oldies!
Peace!

Got the "Service"
Well, now that my financial asshole has been stretched as wide as a basketball hoop, & you could pass a bowling ball through it without hitting the rim... we finally have electricity! Just a 4 thousand dollar repair... The sum of the cost of my first three cars wasn't 4 grand... But at least this experience stretched me out to the point that I won't notice the next time life decides to F me up the arse!
It took the electrician from 10:oo AM to about 9:00 PM to get it all working.... He also helped me trim the trees w/ his sawzall & he cleaned my gutters.... But unfortunately he found some weather flashing issues on the roof we needs to get fixed.....
Funniest part of the day was when he had Howard Stern blasting at concert volume on his satalite radio & it offended our neighbors to the point that they asked him to turn it off!! Hysterical!!! Stern was aking Mini Me from Austin Powers some racey sexual questions (if is arm could fit inside a woman)... Too Funny!
Maggie came back from the Dr. w/ the news that we'll be heading to the hospital on Sunday night so they can begin the process of "inducing" her. So, sometime Monday we should be Parents!! So, get out your baby pool & see if you're a winner on Monday!

Due Date
Well, today is the due date for the baby, & we're not at the hospital for delivery. Instead Maggie is at the doctor's for a baby check-up & I'm waiting around here for the electrician to come & fix our power..... See, yesterday after I left for work the power went off in half of the house & never came back on.... I called an electrician who came over in the afternoon to take a look at our situation. He thought it would be an easy fix, & cost about $380 to fix... Then while he was taking a closer look he realized that the problem was the "service" to the house, that's the main cable that brings the juice into the house from the connection to the pole. See, the main wire's insulation had rotted off & the wire was arching against the aluminum gutter, that caused the improperly connected meter to burn out half it's guts... thus we have half the power to the house... So... for $3,800 we are getting the electrical problem rectafied..... Hopefully Maggie will get good news at the doctor & we can get the baby show on the road!

happy fawthus day!
Well, today is fathers day (pronounced fawthus day on Lawng Island). I got my 1st fathers day card & gift from my babuh, even though I'm not really a father yet! I was given the coolest tee shirt ever, showing all the big game (fisherman code for fish that grow into the hundreds of pounds) atlantic coast records! I already have the regular sized fish record shirt.... Yes, I am a fish nerd! & my babuh knows it! I also got the most beautiful card! Thanks Babe!!!!!
So, the actual hanging of the sheet rock is completed, the first round of spakling has been done, and it finally looks like things are winding down in the interior renovations here at Pauloff Farms. Soon I will post a collage of before & after pics.... It is pretty funny seing what we actually bought!! the Dirtyoffs were gross!!
Today is going to be a 'lil wierd cuz we always have Tim Russert on the tube on Sundays. As I'm sure you all know, he dropped dead the other day from a heart attack. So, I think that should be inspiration to yous all, & yous should go & get a stress test, blood work, the whole 9! We will miss TR...
Here's a funny rant..... So our neighbor asked me to look at their boiler a while back. I took a look, it was shot.... leaking, just in real bad shape. She asked me to get her a good deal on the boiler I sell, & to help get somebody to put it in. I took time from my day, negotiated a special price for them, called a contractor friend of mine to install it... All at no charge, I actually lost money cuz time is money! & she didn't like the price & gave me attitude about it at 6:45 in the friggin morning while I was tryining to get in my car! She said "this is to much money, I can get it from a guy in town for 1 thousand dollars less". I explained that it was different equipment... I sell cadillacs, while the price she got fom the other guy was for .... well, a saturn.. dig? She went on a rant & I said "look if you can get one cheaper, I'm not holding you back.... go get the cheap one!" Then she turned her back on me, put her hand over her head, waived & said "Thank You John", like I'm some kind fo servant & walked away!!!!! F*************CK HER!!!!! She pissed me off so bad that she evoked a Tony Montana "You f*ck w/ me!! You f*ck w/ the best!" attidude!!!!!! It's not like I give a snit if she gets a cheaper boiler from someone else... I just don't need the attitude like I killed her cat or something! What does she think, I do Pro bono work!!! Oh well, there's one less neighbor I have to talk to!!!! F you biatch!!!!!!

Fast Food, Fat Body & A Smelly Car!
Check out the advertised picture of the Arby's Beef 'n Cheddar & the real picture of the deflated culinary marterpiece you actually get!! Now I don't know about yous, but this snit made me crack the f*ck up!
Well, today I passed the only Arby's I know of in Jersey. I thought of Kevin Gibson cuz I heard he's like the biggest Arby's advocate on earth. I've never eaten at an Arby's, but I have to respect a fast food chain that deviates from the whole burger thing & takes the bull by the horns by pushing roast beef! As a kid I enjoyed the roast beefs at Roy Rogers, who also made the best fried chicken on the planet. I dug their bbq sauce, very zesty!!!!! Of course I loves me some Wendy's... they rock. & I've been known to circle Taco Bell like a shark in a chum slick... Basically, if it's greasy & frowned upon by the medical community (Dr. Oz & of course Bernard) then it's usually delish. I've been on an eating rampage lately.... Everything I see... I eat.. I haven't been this fat in years... Lets just say this is going to be a farmers tan summer... Hopefully I can turn this thing around! I'm for the most part eating healthy-ish foods, just way too much!
I must share this with yous. See my car, it smells inside. It smells like minty gym shoes! I chew mint gum, & have my gym bag (from sweatin with the oldies) in the car 3 days a week. The 2 odors have melded into one mentholated sweaty aroma! It is almost like the fabric seats have absorbed the odor, and are now releasing it! I don't know how to get rid of this "situation", I don't want to subject the baby to such a fragrance!
Well, maybe next blog I can tell yous that the baby is here!
Pizzeace!

Hot outside it is!!!
So I guess the baby listened to the weather forcast & decided not to make its appearance until after this rediculous heat wave. Yesterday it was a blistering 102 in Union County (for non Jersians, Union County is just below Newark, [pronounced Newrk, not New-Ark]). It was a joy making sales calls to non air conditioned supply houses in the urbanized asphalt/concrete wasteland that is my territory. Oh what fun I had trying to convince sweaty, broiling people to buy of all things, heating equipment from me!! Lets just say it wasn't a smashing success... It's been very hot & humid here, Floridian is the adjective that comes to mind. But relief is on the way, after the impending cold front we are forecasted to be in the low 90's!! It wouldn't be so bad if I could wear shorts to work. Wearing work clothes in this heat is bullsnit! I don't have a plethera of work clothes. So, I like to get as many wears out of an article of clothing as I can. This weather ain't helping! I was just told that I "glissen" in this weather... If you have dry skin, come out to Jersey... This heat will oil you up! It does to me anyway! Well, anyhow we are still in a baby holding pattern... All I can tell yous is that we're ready!! I guess the Baby isn't!
We almost have the last phase of sheetrocking completed! Just 5 more pieces!!!!!!!! But they are the most challenging & dangerous (over the stairs) ones yet!! We (me & Jerry) worked for like 8 hours on Sunday, rebuilding the studs in the walls & snit. We did get the cieling up though!!! I really wanna get the walls done before the baby comes home. I don't want to have a dirty dusty environment to start the baby off in.... It's all gotta be fresh, right Babe!!!! Oh well, I have to go to work now! I'll keep yous posted!
PEACE

Summer..... WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems to happen every year... It's cold, grey, wet, then one day God flips the switch & it's 300 degrees w/ 1,000 humidity! Thanks be to Bernard for this metamorphasis! I don't know what I would do if for 3 months out of the year I didn't glissen w/ sweat 10 seconds after getting out of the shower, or to not feel the sweat roll down my man teets. I really enjoy the pseudo Hugh Grant poofy humidty hair (although my dew is way thinner & I'm sporting a nice sunburned scalp). Those of you w/ curly hair get afros.... I get poofy, wavy hair that ultimately becomes oily... Thank the Lord for Yankee hats!
Today is so humid I can't see down the street. It's like Kenvil has been engulfred by a cloud! At least it's only forcasted to be 94 today...... They say 97 on monday..... That should be fun! It must be a blast to be 9 month pregnant in 100 degree heat! Lets hope our A/C doesn't crap out!
So My Dad got himself a new (new to us, it's a '03) full sized pick-up truck, & of course we borrowed it within the first 3 seconds he owned it. We shot back down to IKEA to get some more home furnishings that couldn't fit in the cars the other day. The trip was uneventful up 'til Maggie thought I wasn't paying attention to the road on the way home. She screamed "Watch out!!!!! It's a turn!!", as we approached a turn that I usually negotioate at least once a day..... It was funny... She scared the crap outta me!! I almost drove off the road!! At least I know she's there to back me up if I ever really zone out & don't see an upcomming turn!
No new Baby news.... We'll let yous know if anything happens!
PEACE!

No baby... No problem....
Like a plane circling over Newark Airport, we are in a "baby waiting pattern". And just to make things a little more uncomfortable for Maggie, it's going to be 90 degrees w/ 100 % humidity for the weekend...... I hope the baby decides to bust out soon, cuz that kind of heat can't be fun on pregnant people!
Yesterday I met Maggie & Amy for Lunch. We went to our favorite Chineese owned & operated Mexican restaurant. We all had the Vegtobo Boweeto, with Guacomowee and a die cokes each! It was delish!!!!!!! Then we took a journey to the erzatz IKEA store in Elizabeth NJ. For yous that don't know NJ, This is the IKEA that is across the NJ Turnpike from the runway at Newark Airport. It is in an industrial wasteland, all the trucks & trains loaded w/ goods from Port Newark & Port Elizabeth, Airplaines.... FUGHEDABOUDIT! The store itself isn't as nice as the one in Paramus, but because it is located in the Ghetto sales tax is only 3.5%. We were able to buy some large stuff & fit it into Amy's wagon. Thanks Amy!
Then I went back to work, & they went back to Pauloff Farms. After work we celebrated the day with macaroni, salad & a brandy induced phonecall from my Moms.... All in all, the day was a succcess!! Now all we need is the baby!

Grandmother Frenzy
Since news of the lost mucus plug circulated, we've been in a state of "Grandmother Frenzy"... My mom has been like a cat in heat over the birth of this child for some time now... & Gigi has now joined in the baby frenzy. We get a phonecall every hour asking for a status report from Gigi, and my mom asks to come over every day... I guess they're a 'lil bit excited.
Everybody wants this baby to come like........ NOW! But, we want a lil more time to get things ready. I'm ok w/ any day after Tuesday. See, my buddy from California Eddy got me a Yankee ticket for Tuesday, & it's gonna be Joba Chamberlain's 1st start.... So you can call me a selfish bastard, but I'm rooting for any day from Wednesday on!
